Church Halls

A recent trip out to Winterbourne with a wad of paper and some pencils to consider the art of creating a nature journal. As ever the delights lurking in so many a wayside church hall can never be underestimated. Where else would you chance upon an experienced guinea pig breeder to replace your own aging livestock or be chucked a delicious quiche and ratatouille come lunchtime? Chat with a ninety year old perhaps or indulge in some entertaining digression whilst trying to remember where you meant to be heading. Rest assured your church hall will probably have seen it all before over the decades. Perhaps I've dwelt too long in church halls and never progressed to the church service, but alas that's the magnetism of tea and buns...

A small public spectacle

Yesterday's drawing Bristol architecture workshop @bristolfolkhouse and we decided the best way to answer a question about drawing the cathedral was to....walk down to  the cathedral and draw it. What refreshingly simple idea! Many thanks to all the people who kindly signed up. At one point we had quite a crowd of families leaving the march for Palestine on college Green...I got a feeling that when all the kids had got into position to see what I was drawing they kind of wondered what all the fuss was about? I did wonder myself tbh
